Christine Guernsey
Christine Guernsey founded Guernsey and Associates in 2007 on the belief that that a high-end collection is unique and deserves to be appraised by personal property appraisers with proper educational backgrounds, experience and specialty knowledge in the collection areas being appraised. Therefore, every appraisal assignment should have a team of specialists specifically working on the project for their expertise in different areas, while providing the client with a private and confidential one-on-one experience with one representative from the company.
A Certified member with the ISA, Ms. Guernsey studied American art history and American historical museum studies at Ohio University and Ohio State. She appraises all areas of American paintings, works on paper, sculpture, and outdoor sculpture specializing in 19th and 20th centuries. She currently sits on the national Board of Directors for the International Society of Appraisers and is Liaison and past Chair of the Fine Arts Committee for ISA. She is an active member and a past Board Member of the North Texas Chapter of ISA.
Ms. Guernsey has over 20 years’ experience in marketing and the promoting of fine art. She has collaborated with some of the top museums in the country, promoting and creating products for blockbuster exhibitions while working for the Toledo Museum of Art, Toledo, Ohio. After moving to Texas, she worked at the Amon Carter Museum, Fort Worth, Texas. Ms. Guernsey is currently a docent and a Patron member at the Carter. She is also a member of CASETA (Center for the Advancement of Early Texas Art).
A fiber artist, Ms. Guernsey created and executed two national Fiber art exhibitions, Interweave 78 and 79, winning several awards from the art community. She is currently a member of the Fort Worth Weavers Guild.
